The Latch Bee

Saturdays from 10 - 11am. | SWANN Collaborative

The Latch Bee is GROW's free weekly breastfeeding clinic, where families receive support from student lactation consultants under the supervision of an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Together, we're building confidence in new parents while preparing the next generation of lactation consultants.

The name Latch Bee is inspired by the tradition of sewing bees—community gatherings where neighbors came together to share knowledge, lend a helping hand, and pass practical skills from one generation to the next. Long before parenting books and internet searches, infant feeding wisdom was learned in community. Mothers watched other mothers, asked questions freely, and found encouragement in the presence of those who had gone before them.

That's the spirit we're bringing back.

Whether you're breastfeeding, chestfeeding, bottle feeding, formula feeding, or using donor milk, you're welcome here. When we say all families, we mean it.

What you'll receive:

  • Free support with latch and positioning

  • Weighted feeds

  • Basic bottle feeding support

  • Guidance from supervised student lactation consultants

  • A welcoming community of parents navigating the same season of life

If more advanced feeding concerns are identified during your visit, we'll help connect you with the appropriate level of care.

  • A breastfeeding pillow if you typically use one

  • Your nipple shield if you’re using one
